Born in Dundee, Scotland, Grant has been a resident in Utrecht, in the Netherlands for over 25 years.

As stonemason by profession and with his gregarious personality, Grant has a keen and flamboyant eye for detail and uses texture and colours to bring his paintings to life. Working in oil, as his favourite medium, he seeks out the finest details, using live models and photographs he paints in different techniques, often commissioned on request to replicate famous paintings.

Grant enjoys painting portraits in old master’s styles, painting mostly on canvas but also finds natural stone and refurbished wood fitting surfaces for some of his works.
Grant has not studied art professionally, but that does not take away from his creative talent and professional works.
